Shangri-La Group is strengthening its presence in Türkiye with a new luxury resort project in Bodrum, which will become the group’s second hotel in the country.

The group announced that it has signed a management agreement with United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş. for a new luxury resort in Bodrum. The project represents Shangri-La’s second property in Türkiye and forms a key pillar of its long-term growth vision focused on Europe and the Mediterranean’s most prestigious leisure destinations.

Signing ceremony held in Hong Kong

The signing ceremony took place at Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong, attended by Shangri-La Group Chairman and Group CEO Hui Kuok, Executive Director and Group CFO Chee Wui Chua, and Group Head of Investment and Asset Management Chris Phong. Representing United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş. were Chairman of the Board Güngör Çepni, Partner Kamil Uğurlu, and Property Owner Representative Ferzan Çelikkanat.

Bodrum, one of the Mediterranean’s most prestigious and internationally sought-after destinations, is a meeting point for discerning travelers thanks to its natural beauty, cosmopolitan lifestyle, rich cultural heritage, and world-class marinas. In recent years, it has emerged as a global hub of contemporary luxury living, positioning itself as a strategic center for high-end resort investments.

70 rooms and 10 private villas

Located on the northwestern coast of the Bodrum Peninsula, just ten minutes from Yalıkavak Marina, Shangri-La Bodrum will sit adjacent to the award-winning The One Bodrum project. The resort will feature 70 guest rooms, 10 private villas, a private beach, panoramic views over the Aegean Sea, and carefully curated living spaces, bringing the brand’s signature resort experience to the Aegean coast. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first half of 2029.

This strategic investment reflects Shangri-La’s long-term approach to expanding its portfolio of exclusive luxury experiences across Europe and the Middle East. Following the strong brand legacy established by Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, the new Bodrum resort will blend the group’s world-renowned Asian hospitality with refined design and high service standards, further elevating Bodrum’s position on the global luxury stage.

Commenting on the project, Shangri-La Group Executive Director and CFO Chee Wui Chua said:

“Bodrum’s striking natural setting, international appeal, and rapidly rising status as a global luxury destination make this project extremely valuable for our portfolio. We are delighted to bring Shangri-La’s timeless hospitality and contemporary elegance to this exceptional corner of the world.”

Güngör Çepni, Chairman of United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş., added:

“We are proud to partner with Shangri-La Group on a project that will redefine the concept of luxury resorts in Bodrum. This development will set a new benchmark for refined living standards while further strengthening Bodrum’s position as a distinguished global destination.”
