Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that Limak Hotels, which charged an additional fee from Turkish customers under the name of 'national difference', has been fined.
Ersoy noted that an inspection was conducted to the hotel by the Ministry, and stated that the unjustly charged 120 euros from confirmed reservations were refunded to the customer, and a fine of 54,000 Turkish liras was imposed on the hotel.

A Turkish customer, who had made a reservation to Limak Lara De Luxe Hotel & Resort through a UK-based online portal due to its cheaper rates, was charged an additional 120 euros upon arrival at the hotel for their holiday. When the customer inquired about the reason for this charge, they were informed by the hotel staff that it was due to their nationality. In response, the guest stated that he would pay the amount on the condition that "nationality difference" be written on the invoice, and after making the payment, he shared the invoice on social media.
