Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released the latest data on international arrivals for April and the first four months of 2025. The figures highlight significant increases in visitor numbers from Germany and the United Kingdom.

According to the Ministry, 3.9 million tourists visited Türkiye in April 2025, marking an 8.01% increase compared to the same month last year.

Germany and the UK see significant growth

Germany emerged as the top source of visitors in April, sending 571,000 travelers — a notable 31.32% year-on-year increase. The Russian Federation ranked second with 375,000 visitors, representing a 4.7% rise, followed closely by the United Kingdom with 374,000 visitors — a 13.27% increase. Holidays continue to rank high among spending priorities for British travelers.

12.7 million Visitors in the first four months

From January through April 2025, Türkiye welcomed a total of 12.74 million visitors. Of these, 10.59 million were foreign tourists, while 2.15 million were Turkish citizens residing abroad. However, the number of foreign visitors during this period recorded a slight decline of 0.60% compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the January–April period, Germany led all countries in tourist arrivals with 1.14 million visitors, followed by the Russian Federation with 977,000, and Iran with 946,000. Bulgaria and the United Kingdom also ranked among the top five source countries for incoming travelers to Türkiye.

Addressing tourism professionals at the monthly meeting of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said that 2025 will be another record year in tourism for Türkiye.
