Despite a 20% drop in tourist numbers during the first quarter of 2025, Antalya rebounded strongly in April, setting an all-time monthly record.

According to data from the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the city welcomed 1.21 million visitors in April, marking a 14% increase compared to April 2024. The surge helped offset the Q1 losses, during which arrivals had fallen to 855,000.

In the January–April period, Antalya received 2.07 million tourists in total.

Germany leads with record-breaking growth

Germany emerged as the top source market in April, sending 343,000 visitors — a 32% increase year-on-year. German tourists made up more than 30% of all international arrivals that month.

In contrast, Russia saw a 7% decline, dropping to 180,000 visitors, ranking second. Other top markets included:

* United Kingdom: 167,000 visitors (+18%)
* Netherlands: 89,000 visitors (+17%)
* Poland: 73,000 visitors (+9%)

For the first four months of 2025, the leading source countries were:

Significant drop in tourist arrivals to Antalya Significant drop in tourist arrivals to Antalya

* Germany: 531,000 visitors
* UK: 334,000
* Russia: 317,000
* Poland: 111,000
* Netherlands: 102,000

Russia falls behind, reaching just 60% of Germany's share

Historically the top market for Antalya, Russia continued to lag behind in both April and the January–April period. Despite a strengthening ruble, Russian bookings dropped, which analysts attribute to weakened purchasing power and rising prices in Türkiye.

During this period, Russia supplied only 60% of the visitors Germany did, falling 214,000 arrivals behind. The shift marks a notable rebalancing of Antalya’s traditional tourism dynamics.
