Antalya’s tourism performance continued to decline in September 2026, with international passenger arrivals at Antalya Airport falling both during the month and across the first nine months of the year.
According to airport data, Antalya Airport recorded 2.254 million international passenger arrivals in September, down 3% from the same month of 2025, when the figure stood at 2.335 million. The decline represented a loss of approximately 80,000 passengers year on year.
Between January and September, the number of international passengers arriving at Antalya Airport reached 13.018 million, compared with 13.763 million during the same period of 2025. The airport therefore recorded a decline of 745,000 passengers, or 5%, over the nine-month period.

Germany and the UK lead September declines
Movements in Antalya’s major source markets played a significant role in the overall decline. Germany, the UK, Romania and Czechia recorded decreases among the destination’s top 10 source markets in September.
Germany, Antalya’s second-largest source market, recorded 447,000 arrivals in September. This represented a decline of 47,000 passengers, or 10%, compared with the same month last year. Germany registered the largest absolute decline among Antalya’s top 10 markets during the month.
The UK also recorded a significant decrease. British arrivals fell to 151,000, down 21,000 passengers, or 12%, year on year.
Arrivals from Romania declined by approximately 12,300 to 50,000, while arrivals from Czechia fell by 1,727 to 51,000.
In contrast, Russia, Antalya’s largest source market, recorded growth in September. Arrivals from Russia increased by 2% to 647,000. Ukraine and Kazakhstan also recorded increases of 12% and 8%, respectively, while Poland, the Netherlands and Lithuania posted more limited gains.
Overall, Antalya lost more than 80,000 international visitors in September compared with the same month of 2025.
Seven of Antalya’s top 10 markets declined
The decline was also evident across the January-September period. Seven of Antalya’s top 10 source markets recorded decreases: Germany, the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, Romania, Kazakhstan and Czechia.
Germany recorded the largest decline by a significant margin. Arrivals from Germany fell 7%, from 2.691 million in the first nine months of 2025 to 2.516 million in the same period of 2026. This represented a loss of approximately 175,000 passengers.
The UK recorded the second-largest numerical decline among the main source markets. Arrivals from the UK decreased by 148,000, or 12%, to 1.126 million during the first nine months.
Poland recorded a 5% decline, with arrivals falling by 56,000 to 1.049 million. Romania recorded a 16% decrease, with arrivals falling by 63,000 to 331,763.
Among the other top 10 markets, arrivals from Kazakhstan decreased by 17,597, while Czechia and the Netherlands recorded declines of 22,291 and 5,653, respectively.
Russia and Ukraine record increases
Russia remained Antalya’s largest source market during the first nine months of 2026. Arrivals from Russia reached 3.254 million, representing an increase of 6,846 passengers compared with the same period last year and indicating broadly stable traffic.
Ukraine was the other top-10 market to record an increase over the nine-month period. Arrivals from Ukraine rose 6% to 382,000, an increase of approximately 21,000 passengers year on year.
Taken together, Antalya’s top 10 source markets recorded a net decline of 480,000 passengers during the first nine months. This accounted for approximately 64.5% of the airport’s total 745,000-passenger decline over the same period.
Germany, the UK, Poland and Romania recorded the largest losses among Antalya’s main source markets during the nine-month period. In September, the declines in Germany and the UK were accompanied by decreases in Romania and Czechia.
Russia remained Antalya’s largest market in the January-September period, followed by Germany, the UK and Poland. The four leading markets generated a combined 7.947 million international passenger arrivals, accounting for approximately 61% of Antalya Airport’s total international passenger traffic during the first nine months of 2026.
