Spain posts 55.5m visitors, €76bn in 7 months

Tourist arrivals to Spain rose 4.1% to 55.5m in Jan–Jul, while revenues jumped 7.2% to €76bn, with the UK leading as top source market.

Spain has released its tourism figures for July and the first seven months of the year, showing growth in both arrivals and revenues.

In July, the country welcomed 11 million foreign visitors, a 1.6% increase year-on-year. The UK was the largest source market with 2.07 million arrivals, followed by France (1.56 million), Germany (1.18 million), the Netherlands (734,000), Italy (594,000), Belgium (415,000) and Portugal (403,000).

From January to July, Spain received 55.52 million international visitors, up 4.1% compared with the same period in 2024. Leading markets included the UK (11 million), France (7.14 million), Germany (6.91 million), Italy (3.91 million), the Netherlands (2.92 million), Ireland (1.77 million), Portugal (1.77 million) and Belgium (1.77 million).

Revenue growth outpaces arrivals

Tourism revenues also showed significant gains. In July, Spain earned €16.45 billion, a 6.1% increase. For the first seven months, revenues rose 7.2% to €76.07 billion.

Spending indicators also climbed: per-night expenditure rose 6.9% to €210, while per-visitor average spend increased 4.4% to €1,493.

Comparison with Türkiye

Over the same seven-month period, Türkiye’s foreign visitor arrivals fell 2.1% to 28.37 million—roughly half of Spain’s total.
