Half of all overnight stays took place in Antalya

Report shows that half of all hotel overnight stays across Türkiye in October took place in Antalya.

Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released accommodation statistics for October and for the first ten months of the year, offering a detailed snapshot of the country’s tourism performance.

According to the ministry’s data, hotel occupancy across Türkiye averaged 56.58% in October, marking the lowest occupancy rate since May.

11 million arrivals, over 29 million overnight stays

A total of 11,087,000 guests checked into accommodation facilities in October. The number of overnight stays reached 29,559,000, with an average length of stay of 2.71 nights.

Foreign visitors stayed significantly longer, averaging 3.20 nights, while domestic tourists averaged 1.87 nights.

Of the 11 million guests hosted during the month, 4.45 million were domestic visitors and 6.64 million were international visitors.

One out of every two overnight stays occurred in Antalya

Foreign tourists accounted for 21,218,000 overnight stays, while Turkish citizens accounted for 8,341,000.

Antalya once again emerged as the country’s tourism hub: half of all overnight stays in October took place in the province. Antalya hotels registered 14,848,000 overnight stays, far surpassing other major destinations.

• Istanbul – 4.6 million
• Muğla – 2.99 million
• Aydın – 848,000
• Izmir – 801,000
• Ankara – 575,000

Average length of stay by province

• Antalya: 3.68 nights
• Istanbul: 2.21 nights
• Muğla: 2.65 nights
• Izmir: 1.99 nights
• Aydın: 2.99 nights
• Ankara: 1.67 nights

224 million overnight stays in ten months

Between January and October 2025, Türkiye’s accommodation facilities recorded 85,885,000 arrivals and 224,729,000 overnight stays.

Foreign visitors were responsible for 141,852,000 overnight stays, while domestic visitors accounted for 82,876,000.

The nationwide average occupancy rate stood at 53.2% during the ten-month period, and the average length of stay was 2.62 nights.
